Karen Danella: Hello, I'm Karen Danella with Cedarwood Soaps. Today we are showing you how to make soap. Next, we are going to show you how to pour the soap into the mold.

First thing you want to do is unplug your stick blender. Okay, I am just going to -- because you might accidentally hit the button there and it will go flying everywhere. Notice I still have on my safety goggles and gloves and then I will show you why I think this Farberware is such a great thing to use and you don't want -- you want to use plastic or stainless steel, otherwise the lye would ruin your utensils, so you don't want that to happen.

Okay, I am just going to pour this right in here. This is a great scraper because you get most of the soap out of the bowl, smells really good, see how nicely that comes out of there. I am pretty thorough here. Okay, I am going to get that off the side there and then you want to smooth that out, I will just make sure there is no air bubbles in it, you can just go like this a little bit, smooth the top, make sure it is nice and even, it seems to be more up there at that end.

Okay, now what we want to do is immediately put on a lid, so it doesn't get soda ash on the top and what that is, it's just a little white film and there is no harm in that it just a not aestetically pleasing. Then you want to cover and insulate with a towel and then normally what you would do is move this to a safe place, where no children or pets can get to it and where it is going to be left undisturbed. Then you want to let this set for 24 to 48 hours. After that time you take lift the soap right up out of the mold, you hold it by the Freezer Paper, peel it away from the soap and then you slice it, here with the miter box and its already set here one inch for you and then you want to set that in a cool, dry place and let that set there for 4 to 6 weeks and the longer you let it set, the harder the bar of soap will be.

So, next we will be going to show how to clean up easily without too much fuss when you are finished making soap.
