Reid Attaway: Hi! I am Reid Attaway member of the Madison Bumblers Ultimate Frisbee team and I am here to show you how to play Ultimate Frisbee. In this video we will be covering the basics of the game, including positions and field layout. Then we will take a look at some of the basic throws you want to be comfortable with, including the Forehand, the Backhand, the Scoober and the Hammer. After that we will take a more in-depth look at the rules and even some of the strategy involved in Ultimate Frisbee. Finally, we will be going over some drills you and your team can use to warm up and work on specific skills, including the Endzone drill and the Come-To drill. As far as materials go, you will need a Regulation Ultimate Frisbee which is a sport craft 175 gram disc, cleats and ankle braces or knee braces, whatever you feel you might need, so as to not hurt yourself. As far as safety is concerned, you probably only need to warm up, keep yourself well-hydrated and stretched, so as to avoid the muscular injuries. I have been playing Ultimate Frisbee for around eight years, starting off playing backyard Frisbee and parking lot Frisbee in high school and moving on to the JMU Flying Hellfish Team at James Madison University. Now, I play for the James Madison University Alumni Team which is the Madison Bumblers. I have captained the Wildwood Beach Ultimate Tournament team, two years running, and I have been a member of Greater Richmond Ultimate League, summer league, two years running. Next up, we will be talking about how to play Ultimate Frisbee and the object of the game. 1
