Dr. Hayley Sherwood: Hi, my name is Dr. Hayley Sherwood. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Reston Psychological Center in Reston, Virginia. Today, I am going to be answering questions on how to help parents when their child has witnessed, been exposed to or been involved in a school shooting. Before we begin I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rochester and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Temple University.

In my clinical practice, I specialize in parenting, child, adolescent, family, and women's issues. I regularly consult with school personnel, attorneys, pediatricians and psychiatrists regarding my clients. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Virginia Psychological Association and The National Register for Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Now, we are going to begin to discuss how parents may help their children and adolescents to cope with a school shooting.
