Hello, I am Suzanne McCeney, and I am here at ScrapbooksPlus in Chantilly, Virginia. Today we are learning how to scrapbook. We are going to show you how to organize and store your photos archivally safe. Today I want to tell you about how we put our photos together and store it so you know how to pick them up and access them easily. First of all there are different ways that you can organize your photos. You can do them chronologically, you can do them per theme or event or per person. This is a storage device where we do this per year, so annually, chronologically we have stored our photos in this system. This is a file divider where you can put your photos in per your choice, in slots, with tabs, and organize them this way. We also have another device, where you have labels, where you can easily access and store them the way you want. The next one is we have a booklet where you can write right on the page and put chronologically, this is how this one is done chronologically, or per event your photos. When you are storing your photos you want to make sure that you have them in a safe place, that means you want low humidity and low moisture. So, you dont want to store your photos in the closet, in the attic, or in the basement. The best place to store your photos is in a room where most people live. Another good place is under your bed, because it keeps a constant temperature. This device is a drawer that has little compacts in it that you can store your photos in. When you are storing your photos it's very important to write on the back of the photo or on one of your tabs or labels the event. We use a Slick Writer pen, with which you can write on the back of the photo. Most of the time I like to write it on the bottom of a photo on the back, so it doesnt interfere with the photo on the front. If you use a ballpoint pen it tends to indent on the paper, and you will see the impression on the front of your photograph. Also, you may use index cards or index tabs to label your photos. Next we are going to talk about how to choose a scrapbook album.
