Hi, my name is Kara Beckett, I am with Gathered Stems. I have worked in the floral industry and studied horticulture for over ten years, and I currently own a shop in McLean, Virginia. Today, I am going to show you how to make a standard boutonniere. A boutonniere is something a man would typically wear, something like a wedding or dance or prom or other formal event like that. This is what it's going to look like. In order to make this we need a few basic floral tools. Now, you can pick any of these up at a local craft store, or of course the florist will have all these supplies, and you could certainly get them from there as well. We are going to need a pair of utility snips, some scissors, a piece of medium gauge floral wire, some stem tape, going to need a couple of boutonniere pins, and then at the end we are just going to finish it off with a little bit of sheer ribbon. So, let's go ahead and get started, making the boutonniere. We are going to first choose our flowers for our boutonniere.
