Host: What happens if I don't negotiate my salary and benefits?

Karen James Chopra: What happens when you don't negotiate your salary and benefits is that stuff gets left on the table and what I find often happens is that clients will be at a job and after a while they discover that they are not making the same amount of money as all of their colleagues are and then people get a little disillusioned with the job and they would like to ask for a raise. But your leverage is much less once you are inside the company than it is when you have been offered a job. So you lost your best chance at getting the money that's there on the table.
