David Rotan: Hi, I am David Rotan, Video Production Manager with monkeysee.

com and I am here today to show you how to create the perfect user generated video to upload to our site, but it's so much more than that. I am also just going to give you basic video production tips that you can take with you anywhere and use just to shoot your home movies.

First we will be going over some preproduction tips, how to setup, plan and organize, choosing locations for your shoot, some tips for your expert, how to really perform on camera. We will also then move forward into actual video production techniques, anything that has to do with the actual shooting of your project. Sound, camera framing, lighting, then we will move into editing your video and we will be going over some basic editing tips and pointers on how to piece together all the video you have shot and finally we will be going over how to upload your completed video to our website.

Let's talk about the equipment you will need to shoot your video. Well, first and foremost you are going to need a camera, this one in particular shoots on mini DV tapes, there is also small consumer cameras that record straight to a drive built into the camera or on mini DVDs. You are going to want to keep in mind if you plan on editing your videos what type of format whether it's a drive, tape or mini DVD is supported by your editing software that you might have on your home computer system. Remember every camera is different. So you are going to want to familiarize yourself with the model that you finally choose to buy and read the users manual and go outside, practice makes perfect, shoot plenty of video and just familiarize yourself with the bells and whistles and all the buttons and plugins that your camera will offer. Next I would highly suggest that you buy a tripod, it's steady, it's smooth, you can do smooth controlled motions, tilts up and down, pan side to side, I would highly recommend that. Next you might want to think about a editing program of some type. A lot of computers these days actually come with built in software when you buy the computer. There is a variety of different software programs for editing videos. Well, we are glad you found us at monkeysee.

com. Monkeysee is the newest primer website featuring thousands of how to instructional videos on almost any topic. Now our videos are produced in-house by professional producers and editors as well as through our Filmmaker program and finally through users like you. Anyone can submit a video to monkeysee.

com provided they follow some basic guidelines. First and foremost your videos have to be instructional how to or advised videos and we are not looking for promotional or commercial videos, we really want to steer clear of those. Also you want to steer clear of copyright material, music especially, if you do have music in your video make sure it's original and you have the rights to use it.

Finally inappropriate content, we want to steer clear of anything like that, it won't make it up to our website. So a little bit about myself. Before being the Video Production Manager here at monkeysee.

com, I was an independent producer, director and editor on various projects ranging from short television commercial, to feature length motion pictures and hopefully I can give you some pointers today that can help you get out there and shoot some wonderful videos of your own and submit them to our website, so let's get started.
