Jim Harris: Hi, my name is Jim Harris, Secretary-Treasurer of the Alabama Horseshoe Pitchers Association. I have been teaching you to how to pitch horseshoes and now I want to demonstrate the correct way to pitch the horseshoes. Normally, my opponent and I would flip a shoe to see who pitches first. If I won the toss, I would move up to the 30 foot platform and my opponent would move to the opposite side. I would then get ready to throw my one and a quarter turn and deliver the horseshoe.

My opponent would then move up to the pitch of the platform and now we change places, move to the opposite side and he would pitch his two horseshoes. My opponent scored down here so, he will be the first guy to pitch going back to other stake. My opponent pitched his two shoes so now I would move on the platform and pitch my two shoes. As it in this sport, the key to pitch a horseshoe is practice, practice, practice. That is how to pitch horseshoes. Thank you for watching.
