Suzy Willemssen: Hi, I am Suzy Willemssen. I am Head Coach of the Blue Jays Gold which is an 18 and under ASA Junior Olympic Fast Pitch softball Team. Today I have Megan Fouse helping me. She is also on the Blue Jays Gold team and we are going to be showing you some common hitting flaws and their fixes to help your players become better ball players. We are going to be showing you a variety of drills, we will be having vision drills, reverse ball call, using an eye patch, also, effort drill, a focus drill, timing, we like to call that one right now. Things if your players are dropping their hands, we use a High Tee for that, long Tee, we also do something a little fun using a dog tool and we call that the Choke up drill. You are not going to need a lot of equipment. Today you will see me throwing behind the front toss screen. I love front toss, but if you don't have access to a screen like that, if you use Wiffle balls or Nerf balls, you will be safe and you can do front toss. We are using a Tee, any type of ball would be fine. You will see it using a regular 12 inch softball for our equipment. I would say the only thing that's going to be little out of the ordinary will be the Chuckit tool that you can get at a pet store. There are some safety concerns. Obviously, if you are a coach and you are going to be pitching them real balls, I really recommend you being behind the screen. It is a good idea for your players also to be wearing a helmet. Before we begin, let me tell you a little about myself. Again, I am Head Coach for the 18 and under Blue Jays Gold which is a ASA Junior Olympic Fast Pitch team. I am also Head Coach at Chantilly High School. I am a private instructor and worked at places like Kingston Baseball, Frozen Ropes and just been involved in Fast Pitch Softball for probably 20 some years. Now you know a little bit about me, but the most important is getting you some softball drills and fixes for your players. So let's get to it.
