Before AdmissionsConsultants was formed, David Petersam, the company's founder, successfully guided several friends and acquaintances through the turbulent admissions process that encircles the nation's elite business schools. After witnessing how successfully his admissions strategies worked for these these individuals – and being told by these same applicants that he should start an MBA admissions consultancy – AdmissionsConsultants was formed.

Host: How many schools should I apply to?
David Petersam: The answer is going to vary from applicant to applicant. Number one, only apply to schools we are going to be a good fit. If you are not going to be happy in a specific school it's not going to meet your future career goals. Don't go and don't even apply and don't waste your time. In terms of how many schools to apply to, it's going to come down to how many schools were a good fit and what is your bandwidth for completing applications. Each application takes a significant amount of time if you do it right. We always tell people and rather see them apply to three schools and put a 100% of their best effort on each application than apply to say six schools would be spread so phonic and only put 50% of their effort on each of those applications.
