Before AdmissionsConsultants was formed, David Petersam, the company's founder, successfully guided several friends and acquaintances through the turbulent admissions process that encircles the nation's elite business schools. After witnessing how successfully his admissions strategies worked for these these individuals – and being told by these same applicants that he should start an MBA admissions consultancy – AdmissionsConsultants was formed.
Who should I get to write my recommendation?
Host: Who should I get to write my recommendation?
David Petersam: The most important thing with selecting the individuals to write your letters or recommendation are -- selecting the people who know you the best and can best attest your skills and abilities. For instance, it's usually much better to get a letter of reference from a current supervisor than a senior executive in the company. Trust me on this.

For instance, it's usually much better to get a letter of reference from a current supervisor than a senior executive in the company. Trust me on this. Admissions officers can see right through that letter of reference that comes from a senior executive who barely knows the applicant. It appear superficial and it doesn't do anything to further the applicant's chances. Make sure your recommender knows you well. It's much more important that they know you well than that they have a prestigious title.
