It doesn't matter who wrote the letter of reference, as long as the recommender signs it that's all that truly matters. We have nothing to fear from the truth, but admissions officers pick up the phone and call your recommender, that recommender says, oh, the applicant wrote it but I agreed with everything he or she said and I signed it, you are fine.
