Robin Vick: Hi, my name is Robin Vick. I am a Assistant Director Nursing at the Continuum Pediatric Nursing Services. I am here today to talk with you about how to take care of a sick child at home. First, before we talk about that, I would like tell you just a little bit about me. I have been a registered nurse for 28 years and I have been a devoted pediatric specialist. I started out my nursing career in Gynaecology and I have worked all different aspects of pediatric healthcare. I have worked with premature babies in intensive care setting. I have worked with well children in outpatient setting. I have worked with well children in intensive care setting. Currently, in my job here at the Continuum Pediatric, we work with long-term care patients to provide them with field nursing purposes of a holistic health care at home. In my work with children and families, I have come up with a philosophy that testifies as hand or the caregiver as the expert. Through the life experiences that families have together, the primary care division really develops and inside and an understanding to the child, if you see any weakness, things that are subtle, we see our work as one that brings together the observations and the experiences of families with our -- as they are ready to mediate the healthcare plan by working closely with doctors and physicians and other healthcare providers to develop an ongoing reach to that child's ultimate well-being and that he stays healthy.

Now that you know a little bit about me, let's get started. I would like to tell you a little bit about how to take care of a sick child at home.
