Ayesha: Hi! I am Aisha with Picture Perfect Makeup and today we are showing you how to use professional cosmetics tips so that you can be your own makeup artist at home everyday. Right now, we are going to talk about evening makeup. A lot of women have some concerns about how to make themselves look more dramatic and more dressed up for evenings without being overdone. What you are going to want to use are some shadows of your own color choice. Today, we are going to use ivory and olive, which will go great with your skin tone. We are also going to use a rose blush, a gel eyeliner and your brushes, a fluff brush for blending, a contour brush for eye shadow, and finally a flat brush for your eyeliner in detail. So, let's get started.
Using your fluffy brush take your light color and smooth it all over the lid area. This brush is great because you can really get a lot of area in one swipe. Pay special attention to make sure you get the color right here under brow, which is going to highlight and lift. This color has a little bit of shimmer in it, which is great for evening because it automatically gives you a little bit more of dressed up look.
Next, we are going to our shadow brush, we are going to take our medium color which is our olive you can use plums, you can use browns or coppers, blue if you want and we are going to take this and brush across your lash line. This is a great and easy way to do a smoky eye without having to worry about contouring and exact placement of your color. If you just brush it along you lash line and brush up, it automatically gives you smoky finish on the lid. Really easy and really fast makeup.
Finally, to get a little bit more of a dramatic effect, we are going to use some black gel liner. Now gel liner is great because it is going to give you the drama of a liquid liner, but it is much easier to use. We take a flat brush and just use it like a rubber stamp into the base of your lashes. If you have any smudges you can just go in there with your finger, clean it out, no problem, and see that gives you a nice dramatic lined effect. If you wear mascara, you can always use that as a next step, that's optional. I am going to go ahead and just do one quick coat of black mascara. Next, we are going into the rose blush that I talked about. After picking up the color you are going to want to smile so you can find the apple of your cheek. This area is the most natural area to apply your blush. Take your brush and apply it to the apple and then brush out. You can use any color you want, of course, I am using rose just because it is going to give her a nice warm glow without looking heavy and that's how you do the blush.
Finally, you are going to want finish off your look with lips. Some women like to use a lip gloss. You can also use a lipstick. There are lot of different options out there. What I am going to use is a lip liner and a gloss pellet. Pellets are nice because you can a mix and match a little bit. So, just take your pencil and outline the natural contours of the lip. You want to use the pencil that is pretty close to your natural lip color, so, you don't have any unsightly outline. Then take your brush and pick out your color, I am going to do a mix of a brown and a copper for her, just so, the lip doesn't take away from the smokiness of her eyes and brush that on. Remember, darker color will always minimize while lighter colors will maximize. So I am doing a little of a shimmery champagne glass to make her lips look nice and full. And now, she is ready for evening.

I thought that Aisha did a very professional job with her presentation. She seemed very comfortable on camera. However, I have to question using a cream blush over the top of powder. I think it's best to put cream blush over the top of foundation (and never over mineral make-up), followed by finishing powder. Just my two cents worth.
