Hi, its David Sangillo with Out of This World Juggling and I am showing you how to juggle. But instead of starting learning with three balls all at once, it makes sense to break the learning process down into smaller and more manageable steps. Right now, the first step which I am about to cover is how to throw and catch one ball. At first juggling can look confusing but when you follow the path of one ball, you start to realize that things make a little bit more sense. Notice how the red ball is simply being thrown from hand to hand, back and forth. The other two balls are following this exact same motion only at different times. This is the motion that we want to imitate with one ball. Practice throwing the ball back and forth from hand to hand making sure that the ball goes the same height each time. The ball should reach its highest point at or slightly above eye level and should be shifted over slightly in the direction of the catching hand. Your eyes should also stay focused in one spot around where the ball reaches its highest point. You shouldnt follow the ball with your eyes and the reason for that it is that when you juggle three balls, you cant follow each of the balls individually with your eyes at the same time that will be impossible. You also want to make sure that you are catching the ball each time. You dont want to slop it back and forth. This looks sloppy and it decreases the accuracy of your throws. So, here it is doing it correctly a little bit more. Once you get pretty comfortable with this you are ready to move on to two balls.
