Hi, I am David Sangillo from Out of This World Juggling and I am showing you how to juggle. Right now, I am going to show you two tricks one is called full shower and the other is called the box and now what the both of these tricks have in common is they have a throw that is done horizontally like this, with the full shower you have one hand which is doing all the catching and one hand which is doing all the throwing. This is actually how many people think that basic juggling is supposed to be done. So, I guess just practice doing that with three and you can actually practice just doing this one throw but itself. This throw by itself isnt actually very difficult, it is just combining it with the other throws that makes showers and box more difficult than the regular juggling pattern, the 3 ball cascade.

So, when you are doing a three ball shower there are few things you want to keep in mind, one is the balls that you throw you want to think upwards, not outwards. Even though they crossover, they go slightly higher than in the regular pattern and if you are thinking outwards you will probably end up throwing over to the side somewhere. Also the catching hand should be of same height or slightly higher than the hand that is throwing. This makes it easier to do the quick horizontal throw because gravity will be helping you instead of having to fight against the gravity and throwing upwards. Alright, so this is the shower, when you are comfortable with this you can do some different variations you can throw one ball up, one lower. With the box you have two hands that are throwing upwards and two hands that are making the horizontal throws. So, once again helps to practice like this and then you can sort of breakdown this trick into smaller steps to make it easier. Now, with the two balls what you can do is you can practice throwing the horizontal throw with one ball and the upwards throw with the other ball and the way you do that is you throw both balls at the same time and as soon as you catch the horizontal throw then you immediately throw the ball back to the other hand, so it should look like this.

Practice doing that with the other hand too and then you can alternate. Then add the third ball, make sure that the horizontal ball is actually going horizontally and quickly many people start to get sloppy and they start throwing it upwards and then it loses its box like quality. So, make sure that all your throws are happening at the same time also make sure that the throws that you are throwing upwards are straight, so that you dont have to reach over to catch it. Also it helps if you are able to do the shower in both directions that helps you with the box.

Once you have learned the shower and the box you can switch out between the two, you can go shower, shower, shower, box, shower in the other direction. In fact thats the box helps people go back and forth from showering in one direction to the other by throwing one box throw, shower in the other direction. You can also alternate shower, box, shower, box like this. Okay, well I think I have probably shown you good variety of three ball tricks. So, next we are going to be moving on to four balls.
