Sleek Bun Hairstyle - Creating Bun and Finishing

Ali Barrett: Hi, I am Ali with Beau Totale Salon and Spa. Joining me today is Michele. This is our last step in creating our sleek bun. So what we are going to do using our hairnet, place over the top of the pony tail, secure all the hair within the net. This keeps -- if you have layering or if you have any kind of a fly away or if it's difficult to keep your hair in the bun, this will secure it. Taking the hair, twisting, twisting the pony tail, whichever way, when you have sectioned the hair, if you have more of the hair on this side, you are going to want to take the hair and twist it around that way and that will keep it nice and smooth. But you are going to keep twisting and twisting and twisting until it starts to kind of flip. And using hair pins in between the smooth part of the hair and the bun, you are going to pin as you are twisting around. You want it tight enough that it's not going to fall out, but not so tight that you are sticking bobby pins in your scalp and you have a headache. But keep -- taking your comb, smoothing down the lumps or -- and pin in between the bun in your head. And then pining any kind of places that are poking out or you are going to continue placing bobby pins, within between the hair and the bun, as you are smoothing down with a comb you'll also need to use hair spray, if there is any places sticking out or fly aways or anything like that, but continue placing bobby pins around until you have secured your bun. Now to finish off the look, using a wet pump hair spray, smooth with your finger, wait till the hair spray dries and we are finished. So this completes our sleek bun look. Thank you for joining us.
