Vionna Jones: Hi, I am Vionna Jones, owner of Fit in DC, LLC. And today I am going to show you how to burn calories throughout the holidays. The holidays really start around Halloween with all the Halloween candy that lays around until the middle of November and Halloween parties and goes straight through Thanksgiving all the way to New Years'. And a lot of times we just completely destroy any progress that we have made in our health and fitness goals, during this time of the year. So this year, we are not going to let that happen because we are going to exercise throughout the holidays and burn calories, that way when we start in January, we won't have set ourselves too far back and we can just continue on the journey to achieving our fitness goals. I am going to start by discussing the myth versus reality of burning calories. And then talk about the importance of warming up. Then I will show you a calorie burning circuit that consists of five exercises that is guaranteed to help you keep those extra pounds out during the holidays. After that, I will show you some stretches and then we will talk about how to incorporate exercise into your daily life.
So some things that you will need for your workout today. You will need a set, at least one set of free weights of dumbbells. Five pounds or eight pounds will be good. If you are a little bit more advanced, you can move up to ten pounds. You will also need a mat, and a stability ball. Now let's discuss some safety precautions. Before you get started with this workout and or any workout, you should consult your physician. You just want to make sure that you don't have any health concerns or any injuries that could be made worse through exercising. And a little bit about myself before we get started. I am the owner of Fit in DC & the Hot Mama Fitness Studio which are located in the nation's capital. I help men and women achieve their fitness goals. I work with men and women of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. I am an ACE-certified Personal Trainer and AFFA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Healthy Moms Certified Fitness Professional and I have over 300 hours of Yoga Teacher Training. So let's get started, burning calories and having fun.
