Greg Towe: Hi! I am Greg Towe with L.

L. Bean. Today we are talking about ordering clothes online. Now, we are going to talk about how to make sure we have got accurate measurements for our men's clothing. Our model Doug is going to give us a hand and the first place we are going to start is at the neck. So, you are going to want to go to the lower base of the neck, go all the way around and as we can see here, Doug is the size sixteen and a half. The next place that you want to go is chest measurement. So, you want to start at the farthest of the right shoulder, go all the way across the farthest of the left shoulder and you will have a measurement there.

The next measurement for a proper shirt sizing is going to be the arm length. So, to properly measure the arm what we are going to do is go to the farthest point of the left shoulder blade, go all the way down the arm and measure right to the edge of the wrist. And as you can see here Doug has size 30 in an arm length. The next measurement is going to be at the waist, so you want to get a good accurate waist measurement, you are going to want to start at the left hip, go all the way around and come right across and get a good measurement there. The next place that you are going to need to have a measurement for the pants is going to be inseam.

Now you can do this one of two ways. You can do it on an actual existing person which we are going to do today with Doug or you can do it with a pair of pants lying flat. But, the measurement is going to be the same. You are going to want to go all the way up on the crutch and go all the way down to the lowest helm. So, as we can see here Doug has a 30 inch inseam. One of the other measurements that you may want to do if you are doing hats, gloves, and things of that nature you are going to want to measure the head. So, you want to go right in the middle of the forehead and you are going to want to start on one side, go all the way around and get a measurement there as well. And to get a good accurate measurement here, again you will have a conversion chart that will then take the measurement there and convert it for a hat size. Now, for ordering gloves we want to get a accurate hand measurement. So, to measure for the glove size you are going to take a hand laid out flat and you want to go around each knuckle, you exclude the thumb and the number of inches will equal the glove size. So, as we can see here Doug has a size 9 when it comes to gloves. So that's how you measure for men clothing. Next we are going to talk about how to do measurements for Women's clothing.
