Christy Beal: Hello! My name is Christy Beal and I own Eclectic Nature Gift and Garden Center. Today we are talking about how to choose the perfect Christmas tree for your home. Now we are going to talk about the Christmas tree stand.

This particular Christmas tree stand is for a very large tree. You can see that it is made out of heavy duty iron and it has long, wide legs to keep a large tree from wobbling.

When choosing your Christmas tree, keep in mind that when you have the lower bells cut, that they need to be cut as high as the top of the stand, because the stand should be filled up with water at all times as high as possible. Make sure your stand has strong clamp screws, so you can securely screw your tree into the stand without it wobbling.

After you have cut off a couple of inches from the bottom of the tree, when you get your Christmas tree home, if you are not going to put it right in the stand, make sure you have a heavy duty bucket ready and waiting with water. So your tree can start taking up water as soon as possible. Coming up next, we are going to talk about caring for your Christmas tree once you have got it at home.
