Advanced Pole Dancing Inverts

In this video, professional fitness instructors Tina Moran and Jenn Tung break down advanced pole dancing moves and inverts.  This video is designed for advanced pole students who have already built up the upper body strength needed for beginning and intermediate spins as well as the total body fitness needed kick up and hold an inverted position on the pole.  The video series starts off with a pole dancing move intended to help prepare the body for the inverting motion; it can also be used in practice to further build upper body and core strength.  The series progresses on to teach a basic invert and extends into other advanced pole inverts and gripping techniques.

Tina Moran: Hi I am Tina and this is Jenn we are the co-owners of Goddess Fitness in Bethesda, Maryland. Today you are going to learn how to do advanced pole dancing inverts with Jenn while I narrate. This includes learning a fan kick to get used to the motion of lifting your body. Moving on to our basic inverts which is the basis of all advanced inverts and moving on to the more advanced inverts such as the scorpion where you learn to grip without your hands. The Catapillar which uses all muscle groups. The inverted side hold which teaches you how to grip with only your thighs and a Gemini where you will learn to use advanced gripping techniques. To do these moves, you are going to need a sturdy pole. Those permanent and removal poles are available online for purchase and we also use and sell platinum stages poles in our studio. No matter what pole you choose, the most important thing to remember is to make sure that it is installed correctly. It is made of good quality and it can hold your body weight. Make sure that you always warm up prior to doing any advanced inverts. Also make sure whenever possible to have a spotter or a mat. Before we get started, we would like to tell you a little about Goddess Fitness. We opened Goddess Fitness in Bethesda, Maryland, in May of 2007. Jenn and I collectively had over a decade of experience ranging from dance to tie boxing. Jenn currently holds a certification with ACE as a personal trainer. So if you are ready to get started, the first thing we are going to learn is a fan kick.
