Cheryl Cullina: Hi! Im Cheryl Cullina. This is our intermediate and advanced cardio kickbox class.

Jump roping is great for everyone. If you dont have one handy, pretend. Lets get started with a couple of moves.

We do this in our classes, pretend you have a rope, circle your arms, little jump side-to-side, knees; make sure they are flexed, abs strong, still protecting the lower back, a side-to-side move is excellent with no rope at all. If you happen to have one handy, your regular jump rope drills are a whole lot of fun for the entire family. Couple of minutes of the high impact stuff is all you really need.

Another option with your rope; if you dont feel as though you have room in your house or with your ceilings to swing it over your head, lay down on the floor, find your dogs leash or rope, been have laying around, you have got room lay in, in the circle around the floor, do not do this alone, bring your kids with you, they will love this. Jump over the rope and back. Let me set this up and here is an example of what this would look like. Side-to-side over rope with a little bit more of range of motion than you did just standing in place side-to-side. You can take this forward in a circle around your room or around your yard, excellent for the cardio vascular system, and thats our jump rope sequence.
