Ken Eastman grew up on a small Vermont beef farm where his father taught him how to raise Angus using crops and rotational grazing to maximize the amount of meat on the animal. Like many Vermont farms, they also relied upon timber harvesting as a source of income. At a young age, he learned how to harvest timber effectively without destroying the land that they rely upon.

Ken developed a love for the outdoors at an early age. As a boy, he would skip classes to go hunting and fishing despite his teachers’ disapproval. He has experienced the reintroduction of Vermont’s deer and turkey populations and seen the dramatic effects of changing habitat in the region.

Throughout the 80’s and 90’s, worked on Lake Champlain for a fishing guide service and on Lake Ontario. Altogether he has more than 40 years of fishing experience, all of it on northern lakes. Ken has adopted all the moden method of ice fishing including the use of GPS, a Fish Finder, and an underwater camera. He is considered a resource on fishing technique by the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife.

With the help of his two sons, he opened Wildlife Habitat Consultants in 2001 so more Vermonters can see the results that his family has experienced.
