Tomas Sbertoli: Hi! I am Tomas Sbertoli, Director of Snowsports here at Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. Today we are showing you how to snowboard. Right now we are going to learn how to ride a lift. First thing you need to do is remove that back foot from the binding and you use your skating technique to right walk up to the lift. Then we will load the lift, ride up safely and unload safely. We will talk about each of those pieces as we go through this progression. Once you are at the WAIT HERE board, we wait for that next chair to come around. You get yourself set and you are going to chase that out to our LOAD HERE sign. As soon as it goes by, the sooner you can chase it, the more time you have to get yourself set. Once you are out here at the STAND HERE board, turn around, you have got plenty of time, you are relaxed, you wait for that chair to come up and you just going to sit down like you are having your chair pushed in for you at the dinner table. Enjoy the ride. Once we get to the top, there is a nice flat spot. So when getting off, get the board straight, slide that, put against back binding, stand up and just use a straight glide like we talked about earlier.
