Fashion Forward Bob Hairstyle - Flat Iron

Jeremy Paul: Hi! I am Jeremy Paul and this is how to style a fashion forward bob. So a recap what we did in the last segment. What I have already done was taking my flat brush and my blow dryer and all the areas that I wanted flatness. I went back and forth. All the areas that I wanted fullness, I pushed upward. But essentially, all of the hair was pushed to the front. Now the end result after the blow dry isn't that impressive, I know, but the beauty about this blow dry or the style is that it is very, very fast. Once you get the hang of it, it will will take you only a couple of minutes to complete this look. The beauty about new tool here is that this is going to help you achieve that look in a snap. Starting off with a comb and a flat iron, I am just going to begin to take the hair, little tiny pieces, you don't have -- if you feel more comfortable taking a clip, moving the hair out of the way, and clipping it, you are completely able to do that. But it's a lot more easy just to take up hair and start to flat iron it. What I am going to do is I am going to take little sections like this, I am going to flat iron it towards the front of the face. Very, very important before starting your flat iron is that you want to make sure that your hair is completely bone dry. If at any point you hear sizzling, put the flat iron down, stop and re-blow dry. You will fly your hair otherwise.

Again, everything towards the front of the head. In this back section, right under what we call the occipital bone which is right here, this is where the bob's shape really, really is in this look. So to make that flat you want to be very, very careful. It can get tricky your first couple of times, but again, once you get the hang of it it will be very easy. At this point you will probably be using just your fingers. So I will do that for you. Take the hair, flat iron it down but instead of going straight down, you are going to do a slight little curve, very slight, you don't want it too curved but just enough to have to give you that nice little bob portion towards the back.
