Hi, I am Bill Frishman with BGB Builders. Our project today has been installing crown molds, and right now I am going to show you how to perform the final step which is the cock, putty and paint. Our crown mold is in place as you can see. Now the last step is to install painters putty into our nail holes - I have got a little bit of it right here - and what you do is just rub it up against the nail hole and push a little bit of putty in the hole and wipe away the excess putty. And I will do that on every single one of these nail holes. Now that I have done that, the next step is to cock the trim to both the wall and the ceiling. I have got just some standard cock right here that you can find at your hardware store, and a cock gun, and I have also got a wet rag so that as I run my finger across the cock joint, I can wipe away the excess cock on to the rag. I do the same thing at the ceiling. It gives you a nice, smooth painting surface. I also want to do the joint in the inside corner here. Now that we finished our cock, we are ready for paint. We can use any paint that matches our dcor and suits our needs.
