Christina Perry: Hello, my name is Christina Perry, owner of Pure Salon and Spa in Littleton, Colorado. I opened my salon one year ago. We are a six station, full service salon specializing in hair, nails, and skin care. Before that I worked in another salon for about three years. I received my cosmetology license, which means I am licensed to do hair, nails, and skin care. The tittle of this video is how to cut hair at home. I will first talk about the tools that you will use, such as clippers, a comb, and scissors. I will talk about which tools you will need for which haircut; either the men's or the women's, how to care for your tools, and where to purchase them. After that, I will show you the men's haircut. I will show you some simple cleanup techniques that you can use to save money and to prolong the time between haircuts. I will also show you how to do a basic clipper cut. It's very difficult to do a short haircut with scissors, so I would just leave that to the professionals. Next, on the women's haircut, I will show you proper preparation, sectioning, and how to do a simple one length trim. I will also show you how to trim your bangs. So that's the basic rundown of what we are going to do today. Let's begin.
