Stephanie Kraft: Hi! I am Stephanie Kraft. I am a Reiki Master Teacher. I am showing you how to do Reiki. Right now I am explaining what a Reiki session is like. You could do Reiki anywhere anytime, but the way a professional Reiki practitioner does it is on a massage table or Reiki table like this. The client lies down on her back and you start at the head. The hand positions are placed at the major chakras. There are seven major chakras or energy centers of the body.
The crown chakra which is just above the head, the brow chakra at the center of the forehead, the throat chakra, the heart, the solar plexus, the sacral chakra and the root.
The Reiki practitioner begins at the head over the face for the first position lightly touching like this. You can also hold your hands a few inches above if you prefer. The second position is right here on the side of the face, and the third position is on the head like this. Then you move down the body along the Chakra area again the throat, holding your hands a few inches above where necessary. You spend about three minutes on each location depending on what you are feeling in terms of the energy in your hands. If you are feeling that that area needs more healing or more Reiki in that area you would just stay there longer tuning into your own intuition and what you are feeling and now we will help you know when it's time to move along.
We also do Reiki on the knees, the ankles and the feet. When we are finished with the feet, then the Reiki practitioner comes back up to the head to sweep the aura three times like this, making sure we clear any unwanted energies that were released during the session. So we do that three times. Then it's time for the client to turn over onto her stomach. Once the client is on her stomach you begin again at the head covering all of those same positions I mentioned before along the chakras, the head, the back of the neck, the heart area, solar plexus, sacral, root chakra, knees, ankles and the feet. Once I am finished at the feet I come back to the top of the head to sweep the aura three more times again making sure we clear all of those unwanted energies that were released during the session.
That is what a Reiki session is like. Next I will talk about what a Reiki session feels like.
