Transcripts
Margaret Flis: Hi! I am Margaret Flis from Gathered Stems and I am showing you how to make a bubble bowl arrangement.
The next step is going to be to prepare your vase. You have your bubble bowl vase and its not necessary to put anything in the bottom, but it does add some interests, especially if you are using this as the centerpiece and people will be sitting down and seeing inside the vase. It gives you something to look at other than just the stems.
What I have chosen for today are river rocks, you usually get them in a bag like this. You want to add your river rocks before you add your water, because it will be displace some of the water. So, go ahead and just put a few in the bottom. That should be enough, just enough to cover the bottom so you will see them but not enough to interfere with your stems.
Then you want to add your water. We are going to fill the vase about three quarters of the way up, you can always add water when you are done.
Then I am going to add some floral preservative, this helps to keep your water clean and keep down on the bacteria in there.
Usually when you buy flowers at a flower shop, or at a store, they will give you a packet of floral food. So, you just want to add that to your vase now and thats preparing your vase will be back, the next step will be to actually arrange the flowers.
