Cornrows & Co. was founded in June of 1980 by Pamela Ferrell and Taalib-Din Uqdah. The enterprising husband and wife team started a business that quickly became the country's most well-known hair braiding and natural hair care salon. As the growing trend for healthy hair care evolved, the demand for no extension, chemical-free hair styles inspired Ferrell to create a natural product line and the contemporary twist, lock, and handroll styles that have become a cultural phenomenon.

Cornrows & Co. continues its mission to redefine standards of beauty and education as they relate to African-American hair.
