David Rotan: Hi! I am David Rotan, video production manager with monkeysee.com. I am going to discuss the post production process and the deliverables required as part of our MonkeySee Filmmaker Program. All of this information and more is located in our Video Production Guidelines which is found on the Filmmaker Resource page on our website as well as in the Filmmaker Frequently Asked Questions.

Today we are going to be talking about editing your project. I am going to be using Final Cut Pro HD. We are going to discuss some editing tips to help you in putting together your MonkeySee video. Next, we will discuss how to correctly name your video clips. I will give some advice for exporting to a data DVD. We will talk about what the required deliverables are. Then we will talk about how to mail your submission in. Finally, I will discuss the upload process, once we have received your video here at MonkeySee.

To get started on the post production process, you dont need too much. Obviously, you are going to need your raw tapes, the video that you shot. You are going to need your camera or another input device, such as a deck. You are going to need all the appropriate cables to connect it to your computer, like FireWires, USBs. Then finally, you are going to need a good video editing program that you are familiar and comfortable with.

Prior to being the video production manager here at monkeysee I worked for many years in the media production field as a freelancer and independent producer, director and editor of projects ranging from television commercials to promotional corporate videos, all the way to feature-length motion pictures. So I hope I can bring to you some knowledge today about post production and editing for your video projects, and specifically, some great How To instructional videos for our filmmaker program here at monkeysee.com. Lets get started.
