David Rotan: Hi! I am David Rotan, video production manager with www.

monkeysee.

com. I am discussing the post production process and deliverables associated with making a video through our MonkeySee Filmmaker program. Right now, we are going to talk about the required deliverables.

Now every video that you turn into us for MonkeySee should be accompanied by a Project Submission Checklist. The Project Submission Checklist is found, once again, on our Filmmaker Resources page. Once you are logged into our site and you go to your account, you can reach that page. This checklist is a PDF form, that you can fill in, you can type in the fields. Believe it or not, we have had a lot of submissions that were handwritten, which just require a lot of time and its not so easy to make sure that your filenames are accurate. When you are just typing it in, all you have to do is copy and paste, and just change one digit in the file name. It saves you a lot of time. So keep that in mind.

So the first segment of our Project Submission Checklist is the Filmmaker Information, which is very self-explanatory, just fill in your personal information. Then the Expert Information field. This is only what the expert wants displayed to the public on www.

MonkeySee.

com. So if they don't want their phone number or e-mail address displayed, then that's perfectly fine, but it is more publicity for them, the more they fill out. Biography, we definitely need that. This can just be a quick paragraph that the expert writes about themselves and their field. Next, you will want to include a Photo of your expert on your data DVD disk along with your thumbnails, along with this Project Submission Checklist. We really need this for their Expert Channel page. Its important that it be 117X117 square, medium quality JPG format. This can be done with almost any photo program that you have. So if your expert e-mails you, a picture of themselves, just make sure that you take it in to a photo touch-up program that you have, iPhoto for instance. Make sure that you crop it to match these dimensions before exporting it your data DVD. Next is a checkbox for Thumbnail Folder. Thats just telling us that you have all of your thumbnails for each and every clip on your disk, 512X288 at least, but 16X9 definitely, medium quality, jpeg format. Then you will have some check boxes for Releases. We need original copies of all of these. The Expert release form, Appearance release, if you happen to have anyone else besides the expert in the video, such as a model, Location release form, very important. We have original copy of wherever you shot this video needs to be cleared by the location owner. Then a Videographer release form, original copy of that signed by you.

The Video Title, this should be the proper title how it should appear on our website. How to Chiac? How to play a Lacrosse? Then the Video Description, this should be a brief description with just a few sentences to give the viewer a better understanding of what the video is about. This again will be displayed on the website.

Finally, you have these boxes for each clip which includes a Clip Tittle. The Clip Tittle should not exceed 65 characters including spaces and it should reflect the content of each clip. After the Tittle, you will see the File Name. This is where it should be exactly as it is on the disk, your .

mov files. Then the Thumbnail Name should be the same thing, only its jpeg. Then the Clip Description, you will just write in a brief description, just a few sentences to give the viewer a better understanding what the clip is about. Finally, Run time, thats pretty easy to explain, just how long the clip is. If its a minute and 30 seconds, 2 minutes, just write that down there.

After you have completed filling out the boxes for every clip and you are done filling out your Project Submission Checklist, you will want to save a PDF copy of it on to the data DVDs along with the expert's Biography, the experts Photo and all of the thumbnails for each and every clip. You will also want to print out a paper copy of the Project Submission Checklist to mail in with your disk. Another very important paper item to remember to print out and mail in with your checklist and all of your data DVD disk, is a W9 Tax Form. If you want to get paid, we got to have that W9 filled out. You can also find that under the Filmmaker Resources page. So put all of that stuff together, put it in an envelope. That's the required deliverables for a MonkeySee video. Next, I will be telling you about the mailing process. How to get it to us?
