Michael & Son Services has been serving the metropolitan area for over 30 years, established in 1976 by my father Mousa "Mike" Mansour, along with the help of my mother Siham"Suzi". My Father had an all too typical poor immigrant story; leaving school at the age of twelve in order to work to help support his family, he started learning the electrical trade at the age of twelve. After immigrating to America in 1968 he found work as a union electrician during the day and worked for his customers on week nights and weekends. Since the age of 6 years I tagged along with my father on any Saturday, school holidays and summer vacations. I enjoyed working with my father and the friendship we had. While my father wasn't a wealthy man he gave me a wealth of experiences and a great foundation for both the technical skills and values that would define the man that I am. He taught me the value of being an honorable man of your word. I owe all that I have to what my parents gave me.

Felix: Hi! I am Felix from Michael & Son. We are going to show you how to install a ceiling fan. At this point, we are going to proceed with the electrical connections right on top. When you are working with electricity, always turn off the power. Test the wires to ensure the power is off. If it is possible, lock the panel box. So no one can accidentally turn the power back on, while you are working. At this moment, we are moving up the ceiling fan. Female Speaker: During this step, it is crucial to have two people helping and to use a ladder that is built to hold two people. The fan is very heavy and its being installed very high. So you need to be extra careful.

Felix: So the ball is going to get inside the bracket. At this point, it is safe. Make sure you turn the ball on to the notch. Female Speaker: Under no circumstances, should you ever work with live wires. Double check to make sure the power is off down at the circuit breaker.

Felix: We hold these wires, reach for the greens and the bares on the bare wires. Those are your grounds, set them apart. Try to do those first.

Female Speaker: You want to twist each of the colored pairs of wires together and then secure them with a wire nut.

Felix: Then there is those white wires, that's called a neutral. This part is very important. You want to make sure the connection is tight. You don't want to have a loose connection. So don't let the wire nut do all the job. Twist your wires and you have a mechanical connection tight enough. The wire nut just completes the insulation.

The left part is black wires. They are going to be the power going to the ceiling fan. Now we are going to just organize the cables, put them inside the box. Make sure you do it slowly, be kind with the cables. This piece of plastic is to avoid the scratches here. You can see the scratches well. Now we will install it. So I will move the plastic all the way at the end.

Female Speaker: Next, follow your manuals instructions on completing the casing installation at the top of the downrod. Felix: Coming up next, we show you how to install the blades and casing.
