Terry Dean: Hi! I am Terry Dean from Terry Deans Dance Studio. Were going to now teach the components of the Foxtrot. The components are very simple, they are as basically walking steps and sidesteps. So, basically I am going to show you the basic components with Cindy, and then from here were going to do the sidestep.

So, basically were going to do walking steps, forward, and backwards.

Remember, when we do walking steps forward and backwards, we use the heel of the foot and roll down -- if you can pull up you dress slightly, so they could see your feet.

So, my toe is up her heel, and the back is up, and as my toe goes down, her heel goes down, my heel comes up, her toe comes up, and we roll our feet in synchronization.

The main thing about walking steps is now youve got your feet rolling is to keep them on a straight line, so you dont do any -- trying to avoid your partner. Main thing is that, walk straight into your partner, roll your feet, walking steps, forward, and walking steps back.

Next component is going to be sidestep. Sidesteps obviously go to the side of left and to the side to the right. And again, you want to be in sync with your partner. So, were going to take a sidestep reaching out as big as we can to the side, side and then closing, side close, side close.

Now, were going to go to the other direction, side close, side close, side close.

So, now I am going to dance in a little bit of closer position with Cindy. I am going to do walking steps forward, and back, walk walk walk rolling the feet walk walk walk Again, walk walk walk, walk walk walk.

.

.

Now, sidesteps, side together side together side together.

.

. Now, the other way, side together side together side together side together.

.

.

Walking steps forward and back I would make up the majority of the Foxtrot. So, its very easy to do, but you do have to practice this skill, so that you get good at it.

Next thing were going to teach is the pattern, the basic pattern of the Foxtrot.
