Terry Dean: Hi! I am Terry Dean, Terry Deans Dance Studio.

Now, were going to be teaching you the basic step in the Foxtrot. Basic step is very easy, its most like walking. So, were going to start off and I am just going to show you as I dance with Cindy. Man is going to do two forward walks as the lady does two backward walks; walk walk and now were going to do a sidestep together. Side together.

Well repeat that. It goes walk walk side together. Then well repeat; walk walk side together.

So, now that were going to do that a little closer together.

    Walk walk side together.

Now, as youre dancing the basic step, youll have to learn to dance counterclockwise around the ballroom. The dance room etiquette is very important, so you dont want to go against the traffic. So, when I am dancing, I am going to turn my back for a second. Were going to go slow slow quick.

    . quick.

. walk walk sidestep walk walk sidestep, walk walk sidestep.

So, thats your basic Foxtrot pattern.

Now, were going to teach you about the posture and the dance hold.
