Thomas Cymer: Hi! I am Thomas Cymer, President and Financial Advisor of Opulen Financial group. Today I am going to be answering questions and how to manage your portfolio in a down market. I will be discussing five tips you may want to implement to help preserve the value of your portfolio and position yourself for growth.

First diversify, diversify, diversify. Step two and three is avoid market timing and be disciplined. Next, start or continue to dollar cost average. Finally, get or review your overall financial plan as well as give you some background as to why we are and where we are today.

Before we get started let me tell you a little bit about myself. I receive my bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a double major in Economics and Psychology.

I hold my series 7, 66, life, accident and health licenses. As well as my Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation offered through the College of Financial Planning. Let's start by discussing some of the reasons as to why we are, where we are today. And then I will discuss five tips you may want to implement to help manage your portfolio during these difficult times.
