Hi, I am Terry Dean from Terry Deans Dance Studio, were doing the tango. The next step is the promenade step. Promenade step is one of the most popular of all tango steps, kind of has that Rudolph Valentino look. Im going to demonstrate one time, then we will break it down. The idea is that we both snap our head to the right, and we get down on our knees, and we get that T-A-N-G-O. I will demonstrate that one more time. We snap our head and get down in the knees and take off, T-A-N-G-O, very good. So, the promenade step again is basically the man and the lady doing forward steps together, so you have to go off on an angle. I will do the mans part first. He drops down in his knees, he turns his head sharply to the left, and then he walks on his T, T then on his A, A, at the end of that A, he has to turn his body back, and then he does N-G-O. I will do that again, and the A is very important; T-A-and N-G-O. So, I said the word and because you know it was part of the A, but it was the second part of the A. One more demonstration, T-A and N-G-O, and all it is, is a basic turn to the body, and because of what the lady has to do, the man has to do his part as well. Im going to demonstrate the ladys part. Im going to turn my back, if you dont mind. Were going to turn to the right, and were going to go T on her A, she is going to come turn all the way back to the man, A, and then the N-G-O. One more time, she turns her head to the right and goes T-A-N-G-O. Notice how she snaps around. I will do this with Cindy. T, she snaps on A and N-G-O. While she is snapping on A, my shoulders are coming around. T-A-N-G-O, and pay attention to the drama that were tying to get there, because you can do this pattern very easily, but it can be too soft; T-A-N-G-O. Make sure you get down in your knees and youre very dramatic. T-A-N-G-O, thats how the promenade step is supposed to be done. Next thing we are going to do is a basic lunge.
