Jacqueline Eghrari-Sabet: Hi, I am Doctor Jacqueline Eghrari-Sabet. In this video series, we are going to focus our attention on breast cancer, a disease that affects many women and even some men. One, out of eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives. Infact, next to skin cancer, it's the second most commonly diagnosed cancer among US women.

In this series, we'll cover a broad range of topics related to breast cancer including who's at risk of getting this disease, what are the symptoms, how can you know if you have breast cancer?

We'll discuss how this cancer is diagnosed and where you can go to get help. We'll also review new treatments and the latest advances in the fight against breast cancer. Sadly, tens of thousands of women will die from breast cancer this year.

But fortunately there has been great progress in the treatment of this disease and more women are surviving today than ever before. Today, we are here at the Sullivan Center For Breast Health at Sibley hospital in Washington DC, to learn more about the disease and the progress towards a cure.
