Electric water heaters are very simple appliances that require little regular maintenance. Whoever, in order to get the life and performance you expect from your electric water heater, we recommend some basic inspection and tips.
Check the water connections at the top of the water heater for signs of corrosion or water leaks and make necessary repairs. Always keep the area around your water heater free of flammable liquids, debris, or combustible materials. It's common for electric appliances to make some sound when in operation even when new.
Listen to your electric water heater. If you hear a humming or singing sound that's seems to be progressively getting louder, one or both of the electric heating elements in the water heater, maybe caked in scale and require cleaning. Contact a plumbing professional or contractor to inspect and service the water heater. Simple preventative measures can go a long way to making sure you get the life you expect from your water heater and enjoy years of uninterrupted hot water.
