Marty Cain: Hello! I'm Marty Cain from the American Society of Dowsers and I'll be demonstrating how to make basic dowsing tools and how to use them. In this sequence, we're going to be talking about and working with the L-Rods. For the L-Rods, you'll need a coat hanger, a couple of ball point pens that have run out of ink, and some good heavy duty wire cutters. And what we'll be doing is taking this coat hanger because we need a wire and we'll be cutting it right in the middle. So we take about -- you can check it or you can be very careful and measure it, and you'll need some good strong wire cutters because coat hanger is a much stronger than you think they're going to be. And then I'll cut here, give myself a little bit of space and cut that side. So we have one beginning, and then I'll go on this side and just to get it sort of the same length, I'll cut it in the same place over here, there we go.

So here we have the two pieces that will form our L-Rods. And I'm going to turn this and see if I can get as close to a 90 degree angle on that as I possibly can, and then this one, see and that's straight and then down. And this you can do with pliers, you can do it with your hands, it's quite easy to bend. But if you want to make sure you have it absolutely perfect, you can use the pliers that actually bend it and then straighten it out.

Now some people use just the tools themselves without any handles, but they're little more difficult for beginners to use that way. So I like to put a handle on it, which is actually a part of a pen. So you take an old ball point pen, take the front section off and you take off the back section, and see it has the -- that did had ink but it wasn't working. So we'll take that and we slided up the shoulder end of the rod. Now I want to make sure that's a nice 90 degree angle and that it'll turn, so it turns easily. And then I want to turn this to bit, so that the handle doesn't fall off the bottom. And then just to make it easier, I cut it tight so that end doesn't get in the way. So here we have hopefully an L-Rod that will turn and then got it too short here.

There we go, so it turns easily and I do that with the other one, and the reason you wanted is as smooth as possible so that it will turn easily in the handle and you won't have anything mixed up with that. So I have another one already done, so we'll take the two that we've just done and there are rods. So these are called L-Rods because they look like an L. I will make sure that's going to turn easily. This is from turning easily. Okay, good.

Now why you want them to turn easily is because when you're using them, they need to be able to open and close or turn in whatever direction you make them. So one should make them, then you ask for your own code. So I'm going to ask the rods to show me, what yes looks like for me. Please show me a yes and there they go. For mine, a yes opens. Alright. Now this is a search position, so you go back to straight. Then you say, please show me my no response. And the no will actually cross. Now many people have a hard time getting a no, because they don't like to hear no. But if you don't have a good strong no, your yes won't mean anything. So you want to make sure that you have a good yes and a good strong no, and that's basically all you need to know about making L-Rods. So now you know how to make the L-Rods, and the next demonstration will be how to make a pendulum. So let's go right to that.
