Peggy Turnblacer: I'm Peggy Turnblacer, with the Tadpole Dreams Good Manners Program. We are teaching your children good manners. Today we are going to talk about table manners, and of course table manners say a lot about the kind of person you are. We know that our children will want to learn the basic rules of good table manners, because at some point in time, they are going to be out with someone, maybe that first date, or a job interview, or a college admissions officer, and they will want to look polished and confident.

So, this will be a good way to prepare them for that. So we have been showing a basic place setting. There are two forks, two spoons, a glass, a stemware glass, and we will also show them where a bread plate should go and where the napkin should go. So they will be learning what a basic place setting looks like. We would like to show you an activity that we came up with, it's a lot of fun and it's called Blind Man's Bluff.

It's a game we play with the kids, after we teach them where everything goes. We put a little blindfold on the student, and we let the student go to a bin, that has all the things that we want in the place setting. But they're blindfolded, so they have to feel around, they have to be able to tell by touch, where everything goes. They take the utensils and they place things out of the bin, and then they show how they can do the place setting, but they are blindfolded. So it's really fun.

Sometimes if we have a cap, if you have lots of kids there, you can have two lines and have a little bit of a relay race with them, and see who can do it fastest. That's a lot of fun and they have fun with it. Coming up to in our next segment, we are going to show your kids, how to sit at the table?
