Marya Choby: Hi! I'm Marya Choby and I'm a dating coach. I'm sharing dating strategies for shy and introverted singles. Right now, I'm going to talk about how to make a good impression on your date. Introverted and shy people may forget to show that they're having a good time. Remember to keep a small smile on your face and to nod in agreement. Eye contact can feel hard, so it's okay to hold it when the other person's talking and to look away while you're speaking, that will help to decrease some of your internal stimulation. Use a breathing technique on your date, this may sound a little strange but it'll helps to stay relaxed.

The Breath of Fire is a breathing technique that you can do walking into a restaurant or waiting for someone. People around you won't notice that you're doing it and it's extremely effective. For the Breath of Fire, inhale through your nose, begin to pant through your nose, your stomach muscles will pump up and down as you breath in and out. Pant until you run out of air, you'll take a deep cleansing breath that goes down into your belly and restores a sense of calm. Repeat as necessary to calm nervousness.

Staying relaxed helps prevent brain freeze. But if you get it, keep the conversation going by asking follow up questions. Open ended questions that start with who, what, where, when, why, or how illicit more detail and keep things going. Introverts are so caught up in their internal world, they may miss signs of interest. Things are going well if there's a lot of back and forth conversation. You're leaning towards each other and losing track of time, you feel that energy level rise between you. Talk about your passions and the current events you've recently read about. Watch how they respond, do they share the same interests? I've just talked about how to make a good impression on your date. Next, I'll talk about how to end the date.
