Elizabeth Blumberg: Hi! I am Elizabeth Blumberg and I am talking about how to understand the connection between nutrition and stress. Now we are going to talk about how you too, can find a nutritional plan that's right for you. There happens to be an old saying that, 'one man's food is another man's poison' which basically just implies that not every diet is right for every person. In fact, often times, it's the diet that fills the individual. I supposed to the individual filling the diet program. What I would like to guide you through are the steps that you should take in order to find a customized eating plan that's appropriate to meet your needs.

Step 1, try to get a nutritional evaluation from an expert. A nutritional evaluation will give that expert an opportunity to look at your medical history, to assess your dietary analysis, and to determine what the course of treatment would be for you, that would help you reach your goals. At which time, you also might need to do further testing.

For example, you are having a hard time losing weight. Despite the efforts that you are making, it's possible you might have a problem with your adrenal glands or even your metabolic function. At this point, it's helpful to have an expert be able to guide you through the steps necessary to appropriately treat any of these areas.

Second, you need to receive a personalized eating plan that guides you through step by step not only the right meals and meal combinations but also foods that you enjoy. Eating well should be enjoyable and satisfying. And lastly, be positive. Sending your body positive messages about what you are trying to do, or changing your diet or lifestyle is extremely important.

In fact, studies have actually shown that the messages that we send ourselves can be received by the metabolism as well as our hormones, and in fact, impact the way in which our body responds to our treatment approach. So consider all of these aspects to help you better find a nutrition plan that's right for you.

I hope the information that I have given you will better help you understand the connection between nutrition and stress and how you too can make changes in your diet and lifestyle to help impact the management of stress levels in your life today. Thank you for watching.
