Captain Steve Chaconas: Hi! I am Captain Steve Chaconas with National Bass Guide Service.
We have shown you how to cast, we have shown you where to cast, and now were going to show you what to cast, but first, we have to show you how to tie a knot.
One of the easiest knots to tie is called the Palomar Knot. The Palomar Knot, if you start with your line doubled and I usually plenty of line about maybe a foot of line Ill go ahead and double the line, we are going to put the line through the split ring in this case, if this was a single hook, we put it in through eye of the hook, put it in, treat it like one piece of line. Were going to tie an overhand knot and then we are going to take the bait and put it back in through the loop, pull that loop over the top and gently send it down, I want to locate this single strand of that split ring, so I can have that knot in that split ring and then I will tighten it down.
Now, I have done that, I will tighten it down, I have got this knot nice and tight, but what I can do is reposition the tag, this is called the tag end, the last piece of line that I am going to cut off. If I cut this line now it's pointing towards the rod and I might catch little bit some moss, so what I will do is I will tie an overhand knot and what that does is makes this piece of line which is the extra line we are going to cut off, we called the tag line and now positions that tag towards the bait, instead of towards the rod, less chance is it is going to pick up any moss or anything like that, we just snip it off, discard that line and now we are ready to go fish.
