Aisha Alves: Hi! I am Aisha with Picture Perfect Makeup, and were here at Washington DCs PRatPartners Salon to show you how to become your own best makeup artist.

One of the topics we are going to discuss today is mens grooming. This is really important because there is a lot of guys out there who have questions about how to look their best, but dont really know how to go about it. So, we are definitely going to touch on those topics.

The first step is to make sure that youve got great skin fitness. When I say, skin fitness, I mean for each guy to take care of their skin to hydrate it and nourish it and moisturize it, so you can keep it looking great for a long time.

Now, the first step in skin fitness that is really important is Cleansing. What we are going to use today is a gel cleanser. Now, a gel cleanser is great, because its really easy to use, its light-weight and it will give you that nice squeaky clean feeling. So, what you are going to do is just use a dime size amount of the product in your hand, add water and rub your hands together to lather. You can do this everyday when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed, so that way it will remove any residue and oil that you have accumulated during the day. You are going to massage it on the skin, making sure you get all the areas where you are a little bit extra oily, which is generally right here in the T zone, and then rinse it off with lukewarm or cold water whatever is your preference. Dry your skin and now youve got a nice clean slate.

Another issue that a lot of guys are concerned with is irritation on the skin due to shaving, and this is really normal because as you shave several times a week, sometimes youll get a few little red bumps or even in some ingrown hairs. A great way to avoid this is by using an Exfoliator regularly.

Now, when I say an Expoliator I mean something that is similar to a gel cleanser, but that has some particles in it, that will help remove any layers of dead skin cell. You are going to use it the same way, put a little bit in your hand, rub your hands together and massage it into the areas where you might have some clogged pores. A lot of guys have this problem right in here, where the neck is, so make sure you get that area. You can do this up to two-three times a week, but pay attention to your skin so you dont get over-irritated.

Also, everyday what you want make sure you are doing is hydrating correctly. This is a step that a lot of guys forget.

So, what I am going to use is a Hydrating Gel Serum, which is great, because it doesnt leave an oily feel. I like to use something thats oil-free, so it gives you the most natural feeling on the skin.

So, what you are going to do is just get a little bit of product on the tip of your fingers. I distribute it evenly on my fingers and then just apply it throughout the face. A little goes a long way if you have a good product so pay attention to how much you are using.

For skin fitness thats it, guys have it easy, they only have a few steps.
