com. Look how far we've gotten on our skull pumpkin. But we're not quite done yet. I'm going to show you a couple of little extra things to do, and then a way to preserve it for as long as possible.

First, I sort of envision this skull as like a pirate or something. So I want him to have a middle tooth. I imagine this guy didn't have very good oral hygiene. So I'm taking a piece of aluminum foil, just like it so. Then I'm going to wrap it around one of the teeth. Put a floss sit in there between them, I'm going to tuck it on there, one metal crown.

Next thing I'm going to do is try to carve a spider right up here on the skull, eight legs in all. So to do that, I'm going to cut, pretty much like a figure eight. That's going to be the thorax or something. I forget from my eighth grade science class, what the two parts of a spider are called. Now we're going to do the eight legs. I'm just going to kind of carve him like this, basically make a lines form. I'm going to make him a little wider, I might go over them with, I need a duller tool, make him a little more obvious, maybe even this drywall saw might do the trick. Here we go. You've got a spider crawling on his face.

Next, we have done a lot of work to this pumpkin, we've taken a lot of material away. That's going to do two things. It's going to invite bugs and mold. So those two things we don't want to have, we want to preserve this pumpkin as long as possible. It's certainly not going to last as long as a regular jack-o'-lantern, but a preservative is going to make as much difference as we can.

What I used to preserve pumpkins is, bathroom cleaner with bleach in it. Now you may read elsewhere the Vaseline works or thinks like that. But believe me, I've done a study at this, I tried 14 different ways to preserve your pumpkin and bathroom cleaner with bleach did the best of anything.

So you just spray it allover the pumpkin, anywhere you've cut, touched or anything, which on this pumpkin is every single surface. There is nothing here, the way it grew. So I'm just spraying it down, don't worry, the bleach won't bleach it out, it won't turn it white or anything. It will just keep the mold and bugs away. So spray like that, your pumpkin should last a while.
