Transcripts
Missy Henriksen: Hi! I am Missy Henriksen, Vice President of public affairs for the National Pest Management Association also known as NPMA. Today I will be discussing bed bugs. Notably the biology of this pest, its resurgence in the United States, where bed bugs are most often found and the key tips to preventing these pests from taking up residence in your home. This video series is focused upon prevention measures. With that said, if you suspect a bed bug infestation, it is important to contact a pest professional immediately to address the problem. For efficiency, but also for safety, bed bugs should not be handled on one zone. As you'll learn, the biology and habits of these particular pests, make expert control necessary to effective control.
Before we begin, let me tell you a little bit about the NPMA. NPMA is a national non-profit organization, located in Fairfax, Virgina with more than 6,000 members nation-wide. It was established in 1933 to support the pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property. Whether through preventive or reactive measures, professional pest management is a necessary tool in maintaining public health and ensuring the safety of public property. So let's get started.
