Transcripts
Ronnie Mervis: Hi! This is Ronnie Mervis from Mervis Diamond Importers. Today we are going to discuss, how to buy diamond jewellery. The first thing is how to select a pair of diamond stud earrings, probably the most versatile piece of jewelry that you could own. From there we are going to look at diamond bracelets, how do you pick a diamond bracelet? From there, we are going to have the opportunity of talking about diamond necklaces. Now all the topics that I have mentioned up till now have to do with product. But there are many items of equal importance, which don't relate to the product but which require some degree of scrutiny and understanding. Principal amongst those is certification. What is a certificate? I am going to tell later to you.
I would also like to discuss a little bit about how to keep your jewelry clean, it's very important. Jewelry must be kept clean. And then we shall talk about care of jewelry. Sometimes people just don't care enough for their jewelry and it is a delicate item, so it requires some time and some attention. Then consider, once you have purchased your diamond, you need to have it properly insured. What sort of documentation do you need and what do you do with it? And who do you provide it to? And in the unlikely event of a claim, how do you go about processing the claim? How do you talk to insurance company to make sure that you get a complete reimbursement for whatever it is, that is being lost. Trade-up is an important item too. What possibilities exist for you to take a diamond back to your originating source and trade it up for something bigger or better without loosing any money. To what extent does that come into the purchasing consideration, so that you can do the best, you can do it for now without having to break your bank and stretch your pocket, or put yourself in distress and really deal with a bigger diamond later, if that's what you wanted to do. There we have a whole cornucopia of items for discussion. We are going to have a great time talking about it. I hope you have as much fun learning about it, as I have in teaching it.
First, before we begin, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and our company. I am Co-Founder and the Vice-President of Mervis Diamond Importers. Our family has been in the diamond business for nearly 100 years and if there is one thing that would be my pleasure to share with you, it's a cumulative experience of diamonds on many different continents, which I would like to pass on to you. Now a diamond is forever, but our time isn't. So, let's get moving right away, I am relish the opportunity of giving you the education and the information that you may need, if you are in the markets to purchase some diamonds jewelry. Thank you.
