Kathleen Ameche: Hi! I am Kathy Ameche and I have been a boss, an employee, a consultant, a travel expert, step mom, CIO, wife and a few other things I can't even remember. Today, I am going to share with you how to balance work and family life. In this video series, I will discuss how to figure out what you want in life by asking yourself some questions that I will talk about how to take the first steps of prioritizing and organizing. Next, I will provide tips on how you can set boundaries within your home and work life. Then I will discuss how to recognize the things you can and can't control in both your home and work life. Next, I will talk about how to recognize when you have a crisis on your hands and to work through it calmly. I will also provide information on how to properly communicate with others. Listening is the most important part of balancing work and family life. Then I will discuss the importance of taking time out for you. No one can do at all, so taking a break is the key to keeping your sanity. And finally, I will talk about how to get some assistance that you need. It's impossible to do everything all by yourself. So asking for help when you need it is really important. Work Life balance is a marathon not a sprint. Attitude and how you choose to look at the problem is important, and let's say, a challenge for some. I truly understand about trying to balance your work with the rest of your life. Although I don't have all the answers, I do have a few tried and true life experiences that I am going to share. One of the most important is your attitude and how to choose to look at the problem. Jack Welch, the former CEO of General Electric, has been quoted as saying, there is no such thing as work-life balance. Well, I would say first of all, a lot of people will try and give you advice; you should listen to find out what works for you. And you know, he is not completely wrong, but more about that later. Before we begin, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a Traveler in Chief for womanroadwarrior.

com and the developer of the MicciMicci line of accessories. I have logged nearly two million miles of business travel and I have had 20 plus years of executive level corporate experience. I am going to share with your some of what I have learnt. Let's get started.
