Joe Newland: Hello! My name is Joe; I am with Black & Decker's Outdoor Products division. Today, we're discussing how you cut and maintain your yard. Our next task is edging along a hard surface, be the driveway, sidewalk, curb, and how effectively you can do that with a number of different products to get you a clean cut along that grass area. When using outdoor power equipment, always remember to refer to the instruction manual and follow the safety precautions that are in each one of these manuals. The options for performing this task are a gas lawn edger or like the one we have here, this is an electric lawn edger. The guide follows the sidewalk, given you a crisp cut line straight along the sidewalk, very easy to do. Edging can also be performed along flower beds, where there is no hard edge to follow by raising the guide and free handling around landscaping and flower bed. In either case, if the lawn is way over grown with any type of grass, this too was very effective while cutting it back to a nice clean one. So that finishes the task of edging. The next thing we want to show you is trimming all the areas that the lawn mower couldn't get to.
